The Abstraction

Michael Anderson, lives and works in New York City.

The Abstraction is a single channel mono sound collage created by DJ-ing records of modern drama, speeches, old radio broadcasts, poetry and other various sources together. 

The piece is an abstraction of ideas that meld together, in a musical fashion to tell a non-linear story of the 20th century. 

It took several years to collect the various records used, and several months to execute the final work, whose length is 45 minutes. www.chamuconegro.com
